Valley of flowers is a fairyland located in West Himalaya, in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 3,600 meters above the sea-level in the upper expansions of Bhyundar Ganga in the far interior of Garhwal Himalayas and Spread over an area of 87.5 Sq. Km. It was first discovered by British traveler Frank Smith in 1931. This magical high altitude Valley is filled with flowers and surrounded by white mountains loaded with snow. This enchanting valley gets frozen during winters, but as the snow start melting with the arrival of summer. This world famous Heritage Site "Valley of Flowers" become accessible for tourist and trekkers. Uttarakhand forest department is the caretaker of this place and is opened only in the summers. Valley of Flowers trek is mainly known for its picturesque landscape, alpine flowers and the variety of flora. The valley is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep. 1) Explore Himalaya.org expect from you to carry your personal luggage on your own, if you don't want to carry your backpack, you can give it to porter/Mules, but you have to inform us in advance and have to pay Rs. 300/- extra per day per bag.
2) transportation charge from Haridwar to Joshimath is not included in the Trek but we can arrange your Transportation from Haridwar to Joshimath/ Delhi to Joshimath and return easily in private vehicle Like Innova/ Tempo Traveler on sharing basis. Transportation charge of One way is INR 950/- & INR 1600/- ( One way ) Respectively.
How much difficult Valley Of Flowers Trek is?
Govindghat to Ghangaria: Govindghat is at the height of 5500 feet and Ghangaria is at the height of 10,200 feet. That is the gain 4700 feet after trekking for 14 km. The trek is steep in its first 3 km and last 3 km.
Ghangaria to Valley of flowers: Ghangaria to the valley of flowers is not so steep trek as once you reach to the official starting point of the valley of flowers it almost at the same level for the next 3-4 kilometers.
Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib: This is quite a steep climb to Hemkund Sahib. As Hemkund Sahib is situated at 14,200 ft.

Valley of Flowers Trek Advice:
a. Climatic conditions in the Himalaya vary from the plains, so it will be good to take sufficient time to get acclimatized for high altitudes treks.
b. Pay heed to your instructor or trek leader in order to enjoy a safe trekking experience.
c. Do not consume alcohol during the trek.
d. Avoid trekking during the nights.
e. Consult with a physician Before undertaking the trek.
f. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the trek.
g. The trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone, do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.

After Breakafast in the early morning Leave Haridwar/Rishikesh and drive to Joshimath traversing some of the beautiful landscape in uttarakhand like Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag The roads are built on mountains edges and sometimes, you only see the river flowing deep below. It Takes around 10 hours to reach Joshimath from Haridwar. Reach Joshimath in Evening Overnight Dinner & Stay at Hotel.
Early morning we leave from Joshimath for Govindghat, which is the starting point for the trek. From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well - maintained pilgrim trail to the camp at Ghangaria - the base from where day walks can be made into the valley of flowers. After a light breakfast, start your trek up to Ghangaria. Cross the bridge over Alakananda. It takes around 7 Hours to Reach Ghangaria. Dinner & Night halt at Camp. ( All meals at camp).
After breakfast 4 km trek to Valley Of Flowers from Ghangaria. The valley is an enchanting sight with an impressive array of rare wildflowers like brahma kamal, fane Kamal with range of small multicolored flowers make it a delight for travelers. The snowclad peaks including Nilgiri Parbat (6474 m) stand in bold relief against the skyline. The valley is 10 kms long, 2 kms wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. After enjoying the beauty of valley we come back to Ghangaria. Enjoy your Dinner & Night halt at camp.
After breakfast in early morning start trekking towards Hemkund Sahib. It is also the World’s Highest Gurudwara, which is situated at an altitude of 14,200 ft. Leave Hemkund Sahib in the afternoon and trek down to reach Ghangariya for overnight stay. Evening is free for rest & relaxation.
Start trekking early by 6 am to reach at Govind Ghat by 11 am. Once you reach Govind Ghat then drive to Joshimath via Badrinath. On arrival, check into the hotel.
After Morning breakfast drive to Haridwar.
