Northeast India comprises of Sikkim and seven sister states which are Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, and Nagaland. Placed in a unique geographical position, northeastern states share their borders with different south Asian countries from Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, China to Bangladesh. This is how the northeastern states of India get a distinct cultural identity. With approximately 220 ethnic groups in the northeast, there are around 220 odd languages spoken in the region. Majuli, the world’s largest riverine island is in northeast India. Northeast India attracts people from all walks of life for its rich biological diversity and its imperial railway infrastructure. The toy train is fairly popular among tourists and is one of the highlights of experiencing northeast on wheels.

Try to arrive in Guwahati in the morning, or even the day before, if necessary. We will start our trip around 10:00 AM for Cherrapunjee, On the way visit the majestic Umiam Lake (Barapani). You can do the water sports here (Optional). Enjoy Lunch at a decent restaurant on the way. visit Elephant Fall on the way. Reach Cherrapunjee by the evening. This place in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunjee is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km southwest of the state’s capital, Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges. The cliffs of Cherrapunjee also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Get checked into hotels/Guest House. Homestay. Overnight dinner and stay at Cherrapunjee.
Today we will start our trip early morning after breakfast, Today will be an adventurous day. 40-minute Drive to Tyrna village, the start points of the trek to Living roots bridge & rainbow falls. Trek down to Nongriat village and natural marvel of Living Roots bridge. Visit rainbow falls, take a dip in the waterfall, Enjoy nature and we will return back to Cherrapunjee by late evening for Dinner & overnight stay.
Today the list of sightseeing places are long and we have entire day to cover, we are going to cover some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cherrapunjee, After Breakfast we will first visit Dainthlen Falls, Mawsawa Falls, Janailar Falls, Lyngksiar Falls, Explore Rangshan, then we will go for the magnificent Nohkalikai falls, After Lunch visit Seven sister waterfalls, On the way to Kynrem falls visit Mawsmai Cave, Devils dive waterfall & Gaint Conical rock.
Wake Up to a beautiful morning in the hills. After breakfast in the morning, we will go to see the famous Mawlynnong Village, considered to be the cleanest village in Asia. After exploring Mawlynnong for few hours, Head to Shnongpdeng village located along the banks of Umngot River famous for it’s clean & crystal-clear water. Explore the amazing border town of Dawki. Overnight camping by the riverside & bonfire.
After an amazing recreational night stay in a riverside camp, get fresh, grab your breakfast & head for water adventure activities. Try adventure activities like Kayaking, Zip Lining, Cliff Jumping etc. Head for Shillong and on the way, visit Krang Suri Falls & Paradise falls on the way. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine-covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city center is 1496m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. It is also known as the Scotland of the East. The British legacy is still visible in the architecture and food habits of the population. In the evening Visit the cafes’ around Shillong & head to the main market for some shopping. Overnight at a hotel in Shillong.
Today after breakfast we will proceed for sightseeing of Laitlum view Point. Perched in the East Khasi Hills of Shillong, Laitlum Canyons is a little-explored haunt of the mountainous state of Meghalaya. Laitlum translates to ‘end of hills’ and this sublimely beautiful hilltop appears to be true to its name. At Laitlum, all one can see are breathtaking gorges and steep winding stairways that snake their way down to the lush valley. After visiting Laitlum we will drive to Mawphlang Sacred Grove forest, Mawphlang Forest is the oldest and the largest sacred forest existing for the Khasi tribal. The name of the forest translates to Maw- which means stone and so Mawphlang which means grassy stone. later we will ride to The scenic village of Mawlyngbna, which is located on a hilltop. This serene village is famous for its rich fossils of animals dating back to 200 million years. Within the village are several natural springs that supply clean fresh water year-round. Overnight dinner & stay at Mawlyngbna Village.
Today in the morning after breakfast, Check out from your Guesthouse/Homestay & drive to Guwahati, Reach Guwahati airport around 1 PM.
